The unique joinery system offers a superior construction method due to the absence of nails, screws or lag bolts. There are so many reasons to build your log home with Stylo Log Homes. We use the finest wood in North America. Grown in the forests of Northern Ontario and Quebec, this winter-cut, slow growth Northeastern white pine tree is carefully chosen for the log wall system of your home. Only the durable heartwood of the log is used, making the log extremely dimensionally stable. The sapwood section or soft layers between the heartwood and the bark is eliminated in the squaring process. This assures that settlement of the logs will be minimal – not exceeding one inch in an eight-foot wall height.

Stylo Log Homes uses only full-size dimensional logs. This means our 8” x 12” log actually measures 8” x 12”, as opposed to 7 Ό” x 11 Ό” logs used by others in the industry. The bottom line is that the larger the logs, the more thermal mass, which equals more energy efficiency. In fact, our log homes are approximately 30% more energy efficient than a typical stick framed house. There are also many log profiles to choose from. We have standardized on the Outside “D” profile which is rounded on the exterior and flat on the interior.

Our logs are precisely milled to a tolerance of 1/ 5000th of an inch with computer controlled equipment. A first coat of stain is also applied to your logs right at the factory to protect against airborne fungus and mildew during on-site construction. As well, the patented Keylock Air Seal Corner, Six Seal Thermo-groove system and the only self adjusting Log Lock Compression System in the industry combine to ensure the logs fit tighter and tighter together as they shrink. This is unheard of in the log home industry – hence the 25 year Air Infiltration Warranty. Furthermore, the Dovetail corners are not only aesthetically pleasing but they have unique water-shedding capabilities. All angles lead out of the corner, away from the house. These interlocking logs also make the corners stronger.

Finally, your investment is protected with a Digital Inventory Control System. Digital photos are taken of all the logs and log components in your package. You can be assured that you will receive everything that is listed in your contract.
